“If we don’t work on our stuff, our stuff will work on us. It will run our lives–and show up in our offices and relationships–until we take the reins of responsibility for our own well-being.”

Ali Schultz

Founder, Coach & Facilitator

Bio

Ali brings together her decades in a variety of startups (as an operator, managing projects-teams-and-human resources, and developing brands) with a lifetime of soul-based explorations to the field of leadership development. Ali joined Jerry Colonna in 2013 to create life-changing CEO and Founder Bootcamps, both in the US and abroad. In 2014, she co-founded Reboot.io with Jerry Colonna and Dan Putt.

Her book, The Art of Being Human at Work, is a collection of essays that explores the core philosophy of Reboot’s unique approach to business and leadership: that a combination of practical skills and radical self-inquiry are both necessary parts of what it takes to grow, build, and sustain a great company. Tackling issues like burnout, the perils of perfectionism, fear of change, building trust, weathering failure, and defining success, it teaches us that if we are to work and lead well—with authenticity, courage, integrity, and compassion—we must first do the necessary inner work of becoming a better human. It pays to be conscious about not only what we’re doing but how we’re doing it, and this book provides a roadmap for leaders and CEOs to do just that.

As Managing Partner of Reboot Ventures, the creative lab of Reboot, Ali is the spark behind Reboot Supervision, which offers coaches transformational support with coaching supervision, group supervision, and 3-Day Coach retreats. She also oversees Reboot Press, an imprint for indie authors.

Ali has a master’s degree in religious studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder, studied Transformational Neuro-linguistic Programming at NLP Marin, trained with the Center for Collaborative Awareness, and is a certified EQUUS Experience Facilitator (EECF). She writes on the Reboot Blog and Reboot’s Leadership & Resiliency column on Medium, and occasionally hosts the Reboot Podcast.

As a coach, Ali weaves her business acumen with the innate wisdom of the body, the philosophies of the world’s wisdom traditions to help clients seeking personal growth commit to doing the inner work in order to find their voice in service of finding themselves. Her style is a blend of the practical, professional, psychological, and personal in a presence that leaves clients feeling heard, seen, and “got.”

She works with founder and non-founder CEOs, executives, and leaders at companies of various stages of growth and funding (Seed to A to pre-IPO, bootstrapped to non-profit and NGO). She works with people at the beginning, middle, and end of their roles/careers and also those in role/career/life transitions.

She’s worked with clients in the following sectors: VC, private equity, banking, deep tech, fintech, biotech, ad tech, data, AI, energy, travel, hospitality, gaming, entertainment, beverage, real estate, recovery, security, health & wellness, law, NGO’s, non-profits, small-to-medium local businesses, artists, solopreneurs, coaches, and consultants.

Good Words: What People are Saying About Ali's Work

"It may seem obvious, but you don't know what you don't know. Before taking on a reboot coach (Allison Schultz) my blind spots as a leader, manager and CEO were numerous. This also may seem obvious, but the deeper I dove into who I am and what makes me me, the more visibility I gained into my blind spots. My time with Allison Schultz made me a better human, and in turn led to becoming a better leader, manager and CEO. I feel infinite gratitude for the time spent with Ali."

Janessa White

Founder of Simply Eloped

“Ali is as unique as she is gifted. I’ve never seen a coach who moves with such grace and ease from ally to challenger to guide. Her superpower is getting her clients (and her coach friends) to tap into their innermost being, their source of creativity and innovation, in order to bear the rigors of work/life existential challenges. And, all the while, making you laugh from the very core of your belly.”

Jerry Colonna

Author & Co-founder of Reboot

“Ali Schultz’s understanding of the complex psychology of entrepreneurs is truly remarkable. I’m not sure if anyone has thought more deeply about the intricate psychological landscape that entrepreneurs and their leadership teams navigate. This book is a testament to her exceptional ability to connect with and understand entrepreneurs on their journey. Open any page, and you will quickly feel recognized, understood and skillfully guided towards wiser life choices by Ali. This book is an incredible gift to those who believe better humans make better leaders.”

Coaching with Ali

In sessions, we work with what is up for you, and together we explore that issue or topic from many facets to gain understanding about what’s at play. Together, we explore internal dimensions as well as the contextual components of any issue that arises. Successful clients are motivated and ever-growing in self-awareness, guided by a willing heart.

Generally speaking, clients use their sessions in a variety of ways:

  • discuss things with someone knowledgeable and neutral
  • reflect and gather their thoughts, bounce ideas, gain additional perspective, think through things
  • give voice to what has been unvoiced, and have a pressure release valve for what’s been unsaid
  • understand the subroutines and behavioral patterns at work in their life, and how they might be getting in their own way
  • create more space between “stimulus and response” so that they can make new choices, and do things differently
  • understand what it is that you want or would like and move towards that with ease
  • find your confidence, voice, peace, and freedom in life and work
  • align with what makes you come alive, your needs, and wants
  • navigate tough situations and determine the next best step
  • level up your way of being in life and work
  • find more ease, less tension

I work with a wide range of roles, demographics, sectors, and career stages. Including, but not limited to:

  • CEOs, Founders, Executives
  • Women in Tech & Venture, Women Business Owners
  • Private Equity & Investment Banking
  • VC Associates and Partners
  • High Net Worth Individuals
  • HR leaders
  • C-suite and Key Leaders in Management
  • Folks in life/work transitions
  • 20-30 year olds navigating the world of work
  • Folks with relational stress & challenging work/life relationships
  • Folks with chronic illness
  • Coaches – New and Seasoned

Many clients have had success and know, intuitively, that there’s a better way. Some might feel a stirring, but can’t put a finger on what it is, yet. Some may feel stuck or are facing a change or decision (which usually comes with a lot of stress). Most often, there is a desire to do things better, get unstuck, and find more ease in life and work (and in one’s relationships). Each person is different. We start where you are to understand what’s here for you now, and look towards where you’d like to be.
